What's important to me

My priorities look toward the future to help Overland Park maintain its status as one of the best places to live.

A big part of why Cori and I chose to live in Overland Park was the great schools, overall safety, the number of recreational activities, excellent places to work, and reasonable traffic.

To this end, my key priorities on Council are:

Public Safety

Keep Overland Park safe by funding first responders

One of the most important elements of any community is living in a safe environment. Our first responders have been a tremendous asset for Overland Park, and I’ll ensure it stays that way.

Quality of Life

Continue to make a high quality of life for our residents a top priority with transparency, inclusion, and community assets

Our parks, bike trails, Deanna Rose, The Arboretum, Matt Ross, and Tomahawk Ridge are just a few of the city resources that my family has enjoyed over the years. We need to continue funding these important assets in a responsible manner to make sure taxpayers are getting what we are paying for and key needs are being met.

Infrastructure

Invest in infrastructure projects and ongoing maintenance which keep the city moving forward

Jobs

Ensure a healthy economy of investment and jobs to fund our high quality of life and keep our city vibrant

When I moved to Kansas City, one of my favorite benefits was the “reasonable” traffic. One of the key strengths of Overland Park has been our ability to plan ahead and not wait until crisis hits. Along with investing in our core infrastructure, we need to continue with ongoing maintenance and make sure our city is well taken care of.
In Leadership Overland Park, I was amazed about how thoughtful our city was in choosing projects that drive job growth. We must continue attracting projects that will enhance our city and maintain the extraordinary balance of business, residential, and public activities that make Overland Park such a special place.
