My wife, Cori, and I moved to Overland Park in 2005, and we have two children, Harper and Murray who are students in the Blue Valley School District. Cori is a physician with Allergy and Asthma Care and I am the Vice President of Client Experience at TouchNet, a software company in Lenexa, Kansas. Additionally, I co-founded Onboardability, a marketing software company that helps banks and credit unions welcome new clients and members. I'm a graduate of “Leadership Overland Park," a six‐month program that informs and educates the future leaders of the region and prepares them to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow, via sessions and worskhops focusing on city, county, and state government operations. Leadership Overland Park helped spark my interest in giving back and running for City Council. Solving problems through innovation is my career focus. I was included in Ingram’s Magazine as “40 Under 40” and was recognized by the Kansas City Business Journal for a technology innovation with an ImpacT award while at CommunityAmerica Credit Union. At H&R Block, I was part of a team granted a federal patent for an innovative program.
As an active member of the community, I served on the Kansas Sites Board of Review and coordinated the Lionsgate 4th of July parade for nine years. I also coached his daughter’s soccer team and my son’s soccer and basketball teams for several years.
Additionally, I likes to stay physically active – I have run a marathon, over a dozen half marathons, swims in a “masters” swimming program, and can be found on the Peloton leader boards under the name max__powers (that's two underscores).
